Why is there no SmashBoards Official Smash 4 Ruleset? Hasn't the game been out long enough yet?

Every tournament I've been to uses 2 stocks, 6 minutes, and the obvious stages. Also if a suicide moves ends a game, the person who initiated the move wins, like Brawl.

I guess each Tourney is different in a way. The first I went to allowed DLC, a 3ds, and Omega Stages that have no flat wall (for wall jumping). But if I remember correctly from rulesets from EVO Championships or Super Smash Con, 2 stock and 6 min. is right, but shows nothing about suicide moves...

There's no complete competitive rulteset nationally accepted right now. It's because Smashers would rather quibble over silly out-of-game rules rather than just play the game. Even your simple rules of 2 stock, 6 min, and suicide rules are all up for debate. Many want 3 stock, 8 min. Also, suicide ruling is generally scrubby and frowned upon now... even those who use rules for suicide are at complete odds with some wanting to give a win to the initiator and some wanting to give the initiator a loss. No out-of-game ruling should be used as a standard until born of sound reason + demonstrated to be more valuable for competition. For some reason there is no stage for a proper discussion on the matter.

I personally find this rather annoying, purely because it's putting certain aspects of the game into debate. Now I'm pretty new to smashboards and competitive play in general so I gotta ask, what would be needed to have a "standard" ruleset that's widely accepted?

You need your game to be out for a few years and there to be a consensus. No game in the series got a ruleset like this after a single year, and Smash 4 is getting updated on top of that.

Well that makes sense, so it's gonna be the wild west for a while longer then.
