Captain Falcon yesterday, Captain Falcon today, Captain Falcon until the end of time.
I really thought Mega Man could knock him off in SSB4 and become my main, but that hasn't been the case.
Of course, if this poll is asking about favorite character as a whole (that is, considering their entire body of work, not just Smash), then my answer would probably be Luigi. I love F-Zero, but I love the Mario games more, and I appreciate Luigi's goofy charm.
It would also be interesting to do a main + secondaries poll to see if there's a correlation between favorite main and favorite secondary, but the board's polling options aren't robust enough for that (since that'd be a nice 52*51 = 2652 permutations).

Luigi!
