Smash 4 input delay is infuriating

For the first time, I tried playing Smash 4 online For Glory, specifically 1v1. But holy crap this input delay is infuriating to the max. I'm trying my very best to react to certain attacks but I just can't do it. It's even worse when the game is ACTUALLY lagging and my dash won't stop in time. It can't possibly be me either since I just got new internet, my speedtest gives me about 48 Mb/s download and 1 Mb/s Upload. I'm so used to having everything work like in SSF4 where my combos work as long as long as my opponent has at least a yellow bar. Anyone have any tips to fight with this input delay? Also here's my friend code for anyone who wants to play me: 5043-3812-6914.

don't continue playing those people in FG. Play people closer to your area via FC. Besides that, yeah Nintendo is still way behind on multiplayer, but it's far better than Brawl. I find plenty of lag free games though in FG. But it's just one more reason not to worry about your win % and just try to improve where you can. There are definitely some games where you'll experience a little delay. I call these prediction practice...

and frustration management building. T_T

In most fighting games you play online, there is almost always going to be some form of input delay. It does make reacting to some things more challenging, but it isn't impossible.

For Street Fighter, it's not like that :o You can easily do your combos as long as the person isn't red barring.

Honestly, if you are being consistently owned by someone, then that person is better than you, or you aren't familiar with the match-up. It happens to all of us, and we have to accept it and become willing to learn from them.
If you aren't being consistently owned by someone and the input is unbearable, then just cycle through matches by SD'ing.

I usually just SD if I get a laggy match. The max I've ever had to browse was three matches before I get a decent match on my campus wi-fi.
