So would you want all the newcomers to smash4 in 4.0 I would personally love to see that but its a lot of work

Tell me characters you want added to PM if any at all They HAVE to be newcomers

I sincerely doubt that there will be any translations of smash 4 characters into PM. I just can't see the PMBR doing that, as that would be directly encroaching upon Smash 4 which is both legally dangerous and not the direction the PMBR seems to be aiming for.

To be completely serious, I sincerely doubt that the PMBR will revive Pichu. From my perspective Pichu suffers from Mewtwo syndrome. In Brawl, everyone was livid that Mewtwo was replaced by Lucario. Lots of people who has played Mewtwo exactly zero times were pissed (myself included). People were more upset that a cast member was removed more than actual love for the character. Some people do love and play the character - and all the power to them - but more people just want the nostalgia. I can't see more than a handful of people actually desiring to play Pichu on a competitive or even a semi-serious nature. That in mind I would say that it's almost a waste of the PMBRs time to put in the time to recreate Pichu. Before you start hating, I'm not against Pichu's return, I'm more just predicting/anticipating the PMBRs reasoning behind not reviving him. Jussayin.

If we wanted new characters, I would expect the PMBR to create fan favorite characters (such as from the Clone Engine thread) such as Isaac and Lyn. Though I sadly doubt that as well. It seems like a whole lot of work that could much more easily be directed into refining what they already have. Sorry to be a debbie downer, but I like to be realistic.

there is already 41 characters that is a crazy huge cast. although I would prefer like 25 top so I'm most likely not of the majority opinion

I think removing characters would be counter-productive at this point, but it would be interesting to have a small cast of characters with very flexible playstyles. Sometimes the cast seems excessive, if not daunting, but I think that lets more players play in the fashion that they want.

That's hippy-talk for: a cast this big allows a boatload of playstyles, which is what I appreciate about PM over melee. Melee is a super tight game with a very specific set of matchups with incredibly techical play, whereas PM is a bit less technical and a bit more open-ended. Both have their benefits and both have their downsides.

The PMBR has already stated that they won't be adding characters confirmed for Smash 4 into Project M.

yes I am not saying remove people just if this was its own game with all original characters I wouldn't want this large of a cast

I didn't expect that you would want that, I was more implying that there is no easy way to achieve that. Your point is still completely valid.

A Quote from http://projectmgame.com/en/news/clone-engine-blogpost-limits-restrictions-and-possibilities Their Official Website.

First and foremost as a game mod, we are still under certain legal obligations and restrictions. To stay in Nintendo's good graces and to avoid attracting Cease & Desist letters from 3rd party companies, we are limiting our choice of new characters to those that Nintendo has already licensed for inclusion in Brawl. In other words, that restricts us to characters that already appear in the game in some way, such as trophies, assists, or stickers. Additionally, to avoid appearing as competition to Smash U/3DS sales in Nintendo's eyes, we do not have any plans to try to "back port" any new Smash 4 characters to Project M.

See above. Also new character discussion should go in the thread that already exists for it.
