For a while now im thinking about how pm (and the other smash games) will evolve when smash 4 is out..
For a moment i thought: "Will they maybe do the same with smash 4 like they did with brawl and create another game like pm?" ..but then i thought that was nonsense!
If they plan on doing something like that, it would rather be just adding moddified versions of the characters/items/stages/etc to pm, instead of making a whole new game :p

so, what are your thoughts? :D

"First and foremost as a game mod, we are still under certain legal obligations and restrictions. To stay in Nintendo's good graces and to avoid attracting Cease & Desist letters from 3rd party companies, we are limiting our choice of new characters to those that Nintendo has already licensed for inclusion in Brawl. In other words, that restricts us to characters that already appear in the game in some way, such as trophies, assists, or stickers. Additionally, to avoid appearing as competition to Smash U/3DS sales in Nintendo's eyes, we do not have any plans to try to "back port" any new Smash 4 characters to Project M."

I'd rather have different characters in Project M then the ones in Smash 4 anyway.

Project M already has more competitively viable characters than any other smash game will likely ever have... EVER. So I really don't think adding more characters is big on the priority list for P:M, even further down the road past smash 4. Melee gets by just fine with only about 6 or 7, so I think 40 in P:M's case should do for a long while.
