As players that have been with Smash since the 64 era, we feel like Smash 3Ds has come a long way from the beginning. It's got good and bad things about it, however, we thought it would be great to talk about Smash 3DS as it stands compared to the rest of the predecessors before it. We've created this analysis vid here:

If you agree or disagree we'd like to know why.
One thing I feel was unnecessary about 3DS is the fact that Sakurai seems to constantly view making the game competitive as something that sacrifices making the game possible for casual players. I strongly feel that any competitive game can also be played casually simply because casual players... play casually. They don't play to win, they play to have fun. That usually entails playing with other casual players when they have time to kill. Why that requires a game to be unbalanced and non-competitive I don't know, but I want to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Thank you for your time everyone!

Amelia won't let me say
To preface, I'll say that I found showing clips of your Smash Touhou game prior to having explained what it was throughout the video was very confusing. I found myself examining it to decipher what it was rather than focusing on what you were talking about several times, and it resulted in my having to re-watch some sections. Having mentioned it at the start of the video in explanation would have remedied that problem entirely, but I digress.

I don't disagree with most of what you have to say. Maybe some things are overstatements (for example, I think the character balance in Smash3DS is significantly better than you've made it out to be,) or other sections I find are simply misguided, reading into certain quotes what you wanted them to be, rather than what was actually stated. But, holistically, I agree that your overall message, being Smash4 is a sequel to Brawl and isn't likely to have a very lengthy competitive scene, is correct. In particular, the analysis of characters having "good attacks" versus "bad attacks" and the section on ground control are spot on. There are a lot of good points about game balance, character diversity, and game mechanics. However, I find that a huge portion of the ground control argument can be voided if the competitive community simply bans FD.

So yes, agreed with minor tweaks.

I have only enough money to buy the 3DS version, so even the Wii U version comes out.
Haven't seen this video yet, but to me, 3DS is goid of course. But there is some things that they need to improve like the Internet lag, and with no C stick. It might make you feel that you suck in Smash Bros when playing 3DS. I am pretty sure for the ones who only have the Wii U version won't feel sorry for not buying the 3DS version.
