small jumps + side A

Hi ! i just want to know how do you do small jumps(as i seen it in a lot of brawl/melee videos) and make and air smash , i looked around to find the answer but i didnt find it

Basically tap x or y very quickly to SH, and then press A and right/left on the control stick or right/left on the cstick.

Any other questions please look at the stickies in the general melee boards. What's said above is exactly all it is. It doesn't matter how hard you hit the button it's how fast.

You can also do it with the control stick by flicking it up, but imo Y is best.
