SMASH FEST in TOWSON MD!!!
Presented by ~Slacker~
Presented by ~Slacker~
This will officially be the first of hopefully many more small smash-fests to come hosted about 1/2 mile away from Towson by yours truly....
[*]Date/Time/Location
Friday, May 22nd, around 5pm – whenever, STD? @ 15 Kenlawn Ct. Towson, 21204. PM me if you need a ride, I'm not promising anything, especially if its after 4:30pm. IF you need a ride, someone here Might be able to pick you up if you live close enough. PM me at least a few days in advance so we can get things sorted out. We will NOT be offering rides at the last minute!
I do live in a fairly confusing assortment of apartment complexes, so additional directions may be necessary. The whole place is called the Colony @ Kenilworth, and if you come from 695 - West street or York - West, head down West until you see a cross roads, you should be at the intersection of West/Kenilworth dr. Go across the street, you should see the sign to the Colony at Kenilworth, just head straight across, and go up the left hill. You should pass 2 road bumps while going up, then take a left at Riordan Terrace. This is the area in which i reside. Go down the hill to Kenlawn Ct. Our house should be on the right after you descend the stair case. We are the ones with the biggest outside fence around. This is how you find the house, but you may need to park on the street. *NOTE* you will need to find a VISITOR parking spot or park on the street or else you car runs the risk of being TOWED
Parking on the street right outside the colony is permitted, just find a spot along side of the road amongst the other cars you'll see.
[*]What we Need
For the best possible conditions for a smash fest, we WILL need additional TV sets, GC's, Wii's, and memory cards! Our living room should be big enough for at least 6 or 7 decent sized TV's easy. *NOTE* IF you are willing and able to bring the aformentioned supplies, please say so!! This is so I can mark it down, to be sure we have enough supplies/don't have redundant supplies! The goal of this is to have 6 or 7 decently-sized operational TV stations with the game. In future occasions, we may be able to squeeze more, but I wanna make sure we don't over do it.
- what we have so far...
2 TV sets
2 GC/Wii's
2 Copies of the game
2 Memory cards
[*]What the **** goin on wit this ****
This is mainly a Melee-Smash-Fest. But we will be hosting a few tournaments. The smashfest will commence around 5pm, so try show up around then. *NOTE* Although there won't be a fee at the door, don't expect there to be an unlimited supply of food here for you. I am only a poor college student! =P I WILL ask that everyone pitch in $5 eventually for Little Ceasar's Pizza. This is optional, but keep in mind that the more money that goes into this cause, the more pizza that will go into your stomaches!
- Timeline
Around 5pm – beginning of Smash-Fest! Set up TV's and play whomever!
7pm – Signing up for the Singles tournament
7:30 – Singles tournament begins!
10pm – Little Ceasar's Pizza run
12pm – Signing up for Team tournaments
12:30 – Team tournament beings!
Nothings set in stone, but I'm a firm believer in the notion that everything will work itself out...
- Tournament Rules
- Singles and Doubles Tournament will include standard Smash Wiki rules:
- Matches won best 2/3, except Finals which is best 3/5, Double Elimination
- Matches will include 4 Stock, 7 minutes
- In case time runs out and both parties have the same number of lives, the player whose character has the least amount of damage at the end taken wins. If both characters have equal lives and damage, a Sudden Death round will ensue to determine the winner.
- Items will be turned off, obviously and the first stage will be picked among the Neutral stages at random.
- Players will be given the right to Strike against a random stage.
- The loser of the first match chooses the stage, the winner chooses his/her character, then the loser chooses his/her character.
- The loser cannot choose any stage that has already been played during the set of matches.
- Doubles tournaments will follow the same rules with friendly fire on.
- The tournament will be based on a 60/30/10 pay-out rate. Singles tournament entry fee will be $5 per person, while Doubles tournament fee will be $10 per team.
