Does this mean were gonna get a glorious intro? In melee and smash 64 the adventures modes were very similar and they both got cinematic intros. In Brawl we got a big adventure, but the intro was just copied cut scenes from subspace (not trying to complain). So in this new smash since were Sakurai said the adventure mode will be like melee will it follow melee and smash 64's foot steps and have a cinematic opening. I hope we get a cinematic opening and plus it will look amazing with the Wii U's HD. Post what you think will happen.

I have high hopes for the games intro after that beautiful E3 video. I'm hoping for a mix between 64, Melee and Brawl. The Brawl aspect being that it shows footage from single player mode, Melee being the beautifully cinematic intro, and 64 introducing all the characters/franchises.

I would like it to be a longer version of the beginning of the E3 trailer where they introduce each franchise, but they also show footage of each character.
then after you beginning unlocking secret characters they get added into the intro (or just when you unlock every character you get the new intro)

I personally liked the intro in Brawl just as much as Melee's.

But yeah, you're probably right, unless they change their mind or use the scenes in the intro for something else as well.

I didn't read the OP, just the title: Where did anyone say we aren't getting a big adventure mode like SSE? I only remember Sakurai saying we wouldn't have a story mode like SSE.

You have a point, but I assumed that the adventure mode since it's not gonna be like SSE it's may be less of a big deal. But I hope we can get a cinematic intro at least.

They're basically the same thing, especially in the ears of a translator. There just won't be a big SSE experience, and honestly, it's not really a bad thing that it's getting excluded.

I'd love for a unique intro. Brawl's was good, but the random clipping and all that made it kind of a mess. The Melee intro just flows much better, which makes sense since they actually put power into making an intro instead of reusing story mode cutscenes, and the latter mentioned is fine and all, but the Melee intro was of another standard. I'd love to get an intro like that, or even an intro in the spirit of SSB64.

Smash 64 had what I'd consider a fairly standard intro for a crossover game. Melee's was pretty well-done, and my favorite of the bunch. The visuals synched up with the orchestrated score near flawlessly. Didn't like Brawl's; felt like the SSE cutscene/gameplay clip hodgepodge didn't match up with the theme, and even the cutscenes they did choose to show cuts from weren't really the best picks to create a dynamic, cinematic experience.

Wouldn't mind something like Playstation All-Stars' intro, just showing all of the characters fighting to some cool music.

Um, I'm not really familiar with the roster of that game, so I might sound fairly ignorant. But...where is Cloud in that intro?

I dunno man, I mean them subspace cutscenes were pretty f#@$ing hype.
This scene alone was more than I could handle,
And there was like 100 more equally mind blowing cinematics.
Whatever they got planned for the wii u is beyond my comprehension.

Indeed, the cinematics were great, things like seeing Ness and Lucas face off against Porky together, even if just briefly, is just so amazing. SSB has the potential to make things happen that otherwise would never be able to happen, and while I think it was cool to see in SSBB I still think it's for the better that it's sitting out this time around, simply because it takes an incredible amount of work.

Yeah, Subspace was enough to quench my crossover fantasies for a lifetime. I'd rather they put all their efforts into the rest of the game this time around.

I am not sure if you are joking but I don't think cloud is in it. (At least according to wikipedia.)

I hope it goes back to Master Hand and his toy box. I pine for those days.
I especially want toys and not trophies. I don't mind the trophy collecting, but I'd like the characters to be represented as toys as they were in Smash 64.

I think they were trying to make it more serious and less childish when they made them trophies instead of toys and diagrams.

The toys were so much better than trophies IMO. Who knows, maybe this time, we will have a bunch of 3DS's representing each character and when you tap it, it opens up and the character comes out using 3d magic. I don't see this happening, but whatever. I really hope for an epic intro like the intro to this vid here.

Just replace captain Falcon with all the other smashers, and they each run on stages and battle, or something like that.

I know they are most likely gonna do separate intros. One for the 3DS, and one for the Wii U.

I'm willing to bet that the trailer we got for e3 was the intro

Except that the E3 trailer was for both versions of the game. It'd be pointless to show 3DS footage for the Wii U intro, and in fact might even be an outright bad idea. People would get excited for something that wasn't even in the game.

I rather have an Adventure Mode like in Melee than in Brawl as it would allow for more development time to improve on the gameplay and add more content to the game. A lot of people that I've seen are complaining about having no story mode, but I honestly don't care for it and I consider this a good thing.

Also, I am not a fan of Brawl's intro... so I hope for an intro like Melee's or the original's!
