Castlevania fans/players or naught...Simon Belmont in my opinion definitely should be in brawl as a usable character. He is actually made BY NINTENDO and was originally released along side Link and Megaman (he should be in too for Samus competition). Castlevania is 22 years old...one of the release titles for NES. But back to Simon himself and his move list. Look at all the sub weapons there are that could be used for B moves and a whip that I think would be a nice addition for a new A attack weapon. His Up B/Recovery could be the uppercut Alucart/Richter style. Regular B could be holy water. Over B could be the cross or the knife. Down B could be his slide. (Although that would more likely be his running attack) Down B could be the popular Aura Blast whip technique (the way Leon Belmont's whip acts), the attack would charge up similar to Marth's sword, and the longer you charge up, the longer the reach and power of the move. . Also, when holding A you can use the directional buttons in order to choose whether it's low or high attack (kind of like Shiek's chain, which the idea is probably borrowed from Castlevania).

You can't get much more Nintendo than a Belmont.

Simon is the original. He started it all one NES. With that, I think he's the primary choice.

Not to say that Nathan, Juste, and Soma don't deserve a little representation as well, considering they are in the GBA and DS games. But Simon is the oldschool Belmont character.

err...Simon Belmont wasn't made by Nintendo, unless you mean made as in appeared on or made famous, just like they didn't make Megaman.

I'd like Belmont in, but I don't see it happening. That part of Konami doesn't seem interested in Nintendo so...meh

It'd be Simon. No one else deserves a spot more than him - and he's much more deserving of a spot than Sonic is, for very, very obvious reasons.
I have a feeling Simon will make it through. He was on Sakurai's poll, too, even if he wasn't requested much, it means Sakurai was interested.

There's a Simon Belmont thread in the Brawl Character Discussion. It's mostly dead, but, here's the link anyway: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=72645

I have a feeling that the stopwatch in the partyball was/is actually the stopwatch sub-weapon.
