Side B what the heck

Can anyone explain to me how his side B works?

Also, is there any REALLY good luigis that could win at some tourneys? man I really love luigi hes fun and im good with him. But I feel like ill never get anywere because all the good people use top tier dumb characters.

EDIT: OH I FORGOT! im dieing to know how his down b works, ive seen videos of him flying almost acrossed the map. and when I do it, I use the analog stick to go in a direction and he barly does anything.. and people always telling me its a return move but i always go down?

no luigi is definitley really good. I use him a lot and win a lot.

side-b is a charge move, the longer you hold b the farther across you will go. Generally it is used to get back to the stage. It has a 12.5% chance to misfire, causing Luigi to fly across farther and faster, it also has alot more killing power if it connects. Im not too sure what you wanter answered about this :S.

As for Luigi's down-b, it is based on his momentum. So if you jump, and then immediately use the down-b while repeatedly hitting b, you will go upwards at a fair rate. Beware that you can only get upwards momentum once before you land again, somewhat like an up-b, except you have control afterwards
