Hello, have a question from what I have seen. I have seen people side-b and manage to cancel the lag and helplessness by doing something with falling off of a platform.

Can someone explain to me if this is even a thing, and if so how to do it?

When you press side-b and you're at platform height, it stops you right before you fall off so that you do that "teetering-on-the-ledge- animation. If you're still holding the direction from the side-b, you fall off.

The easiest stages to do it with Fox (a full illusion) would be pokemon stadium: jump off the ledge and DI backwards and side-b toward the platform while holding the direction toward the center. You can also do it on Yoshi's if you run off the plat on the left and side-b toward the right platform, works vice versa.

It's very useful for recoveries if you can platform cancel your side-b's because it's hard to punish if they don't anticipate the side-b in the first place.

Also if you were curious, stages good for Falco's are Battlefield and PS. FoD might work if the plats are lined up
