For example you have to clear classic mode to get Jigglypuff.

When he announces unlockable characters, should he tell how to get them. If he don't then we may not be able to figure out how to unlock them until IGN or Gamespy release faqs for the game.

I really hope he does because I want to unlock all the characters asap. He doesn't have to state who you unlock to keep it secret.

For example he could state:

If you unlock classic mode you will get a suprise character.

No offense, but that idea defeats the whole point of unlockable characters. If he tells us how to unlock the characters, they aren't secret anymore. I don't know about you guys, but I would like to figure out for myself how to unlock characters. Its cool to know that you actually figured out how to unlock Snake, lets say, then just doing what everyone else does and looking on GameFAQs

I believe he did that for the original SSB site. It's possible.

How would you unlock them if you don't know how lol? I mean if you have to hit the Sandbag 2k feet to unlock Luigi, how would you know to do that? That is why I love IGN faq. I read how to unlock Melee characters as soon as I got the game so I could work towards it.

personally i'll try to get a list of how to unlock stuff without knowing what exactly i'd be unlocking

maybe i'll play the game for a week or two, unlock what i can on my own, and then look for that kind of list

I waited till like I needed 3 people to unlock before I check the internet how. I want to be surprised when I unlock characters and why IGN? I don't see anything special about them..

Bad idea, I would like him to reveal the unlockable characters before the game comes out but telling us how to unlock them is going a bit far.

And volbound I unlocked all the characters in melee without the internet. I didn't have the internet then so I had to manage without help....It's the same case with brawl, You could unlock all the characters without the internet, especially if you can play a certain amount of games and unlock a new character in brawl like in melee.

I think many of the characters revealed aren't available right off the bat.

Snake and Sonic to begin with.. Perhaps Ike, Dedede, Lucas have to be unlocked. Not Pokemon Trainer since he appears in the box art. :p

R.M.B. were else?
he probably wont reveal how to unlock the characters until we have had sufficient time to find them on our own. I would like to know who all is in the game, but the fun part is figureing out how to unlock them.

To answer your question, no.

I believe that if Mr. Sakurai revealed the ways of unlocking all of the characters, it wouldn't be of any amusement hunting them down. Also, that defeats the purpose of "secret" characters. They are secret and information regarding how to unlock them shouldn't be revealed, mind you.

I don't understand why you think this is a bad idea. I would have no idea how to unlock some of the Melee secrets if not for IGN cheat list. How will we know how to unlock Sonic or Snake. Game would stink if we could not figure out how to unlock the characters.

I played melee for about 3 weeks before going for the characters, the only chracters i unlocked in those 3 weeks were Doc. Jiggs and YL.

Personally if Sakurai wants us to enjoy this game for years Id learn how to use a character and get really good with them in a competitive way then when I master a character then I want to unlock them all.

Besides if in order to unlock Sonic you had to do a Mario Versus Sonic match then that will be the way

But for now Im content on who is in the game, except Sonic cause I dont like him, but what ever.
