This is a question that's been on my mind lately - why doesn't P:M use the engine that allows more characters? If not for native use, then for compatibility and end-user-side customization?

I'm not knowledgable enough to answer this, and I have a feeling that the PMBR has their reasons for sticking to their personal engine. But I want to know everyone else's thoughts on the matter.

That's one of the bigger problems, it's speed. I've also heard it's damn near impossible to make an ISO with BrawlEX + P:M. That's a major issue for some and would make it impossible for them to play.

All I know about this is it allows more characters. So when you say slow, do you mean slow physics, or load times, or what?

I didn't even know about the slow load times, but one of the reasons we don't use it is it doesn't allow for kirby hats IIRC

I'm sure you guys would write your own engine if you wanted to expand the roster past what you can.
