Should I just use Mario?

I want to go to a tournament soon but I don't know if I should just use Mario. My friend has been winning tournaments with just Mario even against DDDs but I don't know if I'm that good, what should I do?

I havent seen any good marios in tournaments lately but if u have mario as your only main then I suggest that u go for it (just like BO X7 said). The only way to find out whether your good enough is to just enter one. Even if you loose u should still go for mario greatness.
