Should I get Smash Wii U if I have the 3DS version?

Hey, sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread.

I just have a question: what exactly is the point of having both the 3DS Smash and the Wii U one? I understand you can play on the go, the stages are different and the console version includes more multiplayers and other modes, but what is the point of getting it if you don't have anyone to play with? It kinda doesn't seem like there are a lot of single players modes.

I reluctantly got the 3DS version the first day it came out, didn't think playing it on the small screen would be fun, but it is.
I also don't have anyone local to play Wii U Smash with me, so I kinda don't see the point of getting it but yet I still want it?

Should I get it? lol
Edit: Also what kind of controller do you Wii U players use to play the game?

If your internet is good, there's always For Glory.

The single-player stuff in SmashU is pretty solid. Bit more than in 3DS, naturally.

Controls just feel better on the U. The game looks nicer in general, and so on.

In my opinion, it's worth it (got a U just for the game, really). But if 3D floats your boat for now, might as well stick with that.

Yeah, I don't mind playing online but those multiplayers modes, particularly the 8 player thing, sounds really good for it to go to waste. lol The 3DS doesn't float my boat fully...So, I'll probably end up getting it sooner or later...Well, sooner since I'll be able to get Mewtwo for free. (indecisive mess)

I also have a question about the Wii U version - I play Smash using a genuine gamecube controller and I've been looking into some adapters though I have heard the Hori Gamecube controllers are pretty good. Do you use them/know if they actually feel like the original GC? If not, what do you use?

I use Gamecube controllers, and have used both the new Smash-logo ones and my old ones. I sometimes dabble in the Pro controller or using my 3DS as a controller if friends are over (only have one Gamecube adapter). I still prefer the Gamecube controller, but I've heard good things about most of the choices. Whatever works best for you.

It depends, If all you want to do is play a bit of For Glory and smash with friends/singleplayer modes then the 3ds version should be fine, assuming you don't mind the controller. If you can't stand the 3ds you should consider trying out the Wii U version. Respectively if you wan't a competitive experience with a large scene, the Wii U version is probably the place to go, since the 3ds version isn't likely to have a lot of competitive attention.
