Should I buy an older WiiMote and MotionPlus attachment just for PM?

I recently discovered MotionPlus controllers don't work on PM, is it worth it to buy the old wiimote that came with the Wii (not Wii U) and a motionplus attachment for it? Will it function the same as the new motionplus controllers on Wii U games also or is it worse to use on Wii U games?

I'd say worth it, I believe it works the same, it's just a bit awkward because of the attachment.
