Should I bring a USB Cord if I use Pro Controller?

I'm going to my first weekly tomorrow and I use a Pro Controller, I remember someone saying in the WiiU era that you should bring a USB cord and have your pro controller with no batteries to help connect and disconnect easily, do I have to do this with the Switch pro controller as well? Also, is there anything else I should know before going?

The usb controller makes pairing to a new console pretty painless, so it's a good thing to bring. Just make sure to unpair the controller after each round; otherwise if your controller is bumped and turned on while you aren't playing, it will pause the game on that console.

Bring it just in case the battery dies, not necessarily for playing. You can quickly and easily unpair your controller from a setup via the home menu.
