Short-hop attack tech- changes

Since the announcement that an update is coming to ultimate soon, I’ve been thinking of things that should be adjusted or changed. Most people have mentioned stuff related to making changes to online play, but there’s one thing that has struck me. The whole short-hop attack machanic (where you press the attack button and jump at the same time) tends to bother me and interferes with my gameplay. I truly believe that this machanic should be able to be turned on and off in the controller settings. I try to do some combos for say that were relevant in sm4sh, but because of the very strict timing of button presses, this machanic causes me to screw it up when I’m trying to do a full hop instead. This whole tech (in my case at least) makes some combos impossible since it is there.

I really wanna hear what any of you have to say about it, whether this tech doesn’t bother you or if it does.
