To give you a more technical answer. Falco's laser is out for too many frames to attempt to waveland or do any other move and pretty much takes up the whole short hop. When landing all of the lag from the laser is canceled out and it allows you to move around while lasering easier. I guess it's possible with Fox because his laser isn't out the entire short hop and it gives you enough time to waveland, but I wouldn't consider that making you faster.

there is hardly if not any lag to the shl.It gives you oppurtunitys to fire another laser.
