Shiny Characters?

So Im doing some training and the random cpu they sent in was a Shulk. But he's shining. Is this normal?

I tried killing him over and over but he's constantly shining. Is this a glitch or something?

If you play with Customs on, then yes, I believe a Random CPU will also be given random customs and equipment. The sparkle, if it's the same one I'm thinking of, should go away once they take damage, and return on respawn, right? That's an equipment effect that causes them to gain stats, typically attack damage or maybe speed, while at 0%.

Yep.

Took me a while to figure it out as well, but if you're playing with Customs on, the CPU will be assigned random equipment. Some of it will activate latent abilities that cause the character to shine. It's nothing to be concerned about and it's intentionally that way so you know the abilities are in effect.
