Shield pulsing?

Lucario tries to hit Ike. Watch Ike's shield. First he powershields. That's fine, whatever. Watch it afterwards. It grows and shrinks until he rolls and reshields. The shield once again grows and shrinks as it is held.

Any idea of what this is? Remember lightshielding doesn't exist so you can't control the size of your shield anymore.

im surprised you noticed that, but from what i saw it just looked a little shaky. nothing that would resemble the change from lightshield > shield in melee

all i saw was it looking like it goes down like normal =S

Ugh, no light-shielding? I didn't know that. It was a nice edge over some players whose fingers were too brutish to press the shoulder buttons correctly. Oh well.

I guess maybe its just my eyes, but I see it in vids quite a bit. Maybe that's the new animation for it?
