For ideas about approaches, please check out the stickied threads at the top of the sheik boards. There's plenty of resources there and full guides to the character that will tell you everything to get started.
If you do the research you can help keep the sheik boards tidy!
That being said, auto cancelled fairs are good for spacing and approaching if you hit at good range. Bair is also a solid tool in some cases to get a little pressure. A lot of your offense will open up once you learn to dash dance and wavedash fluidly to control your space.
