Singles: Round Robin
Low Tiers: Double Elim(?)

Additional Rules

Knock-out: Will not be present at this tournament.

Advanced Slob Picks: First match stage will be random. Loser chooses the next stage, then the winner chooses character, then the loser chooses character.

Items: OFF

Double Blind Pick: Both players secretly choose their character, is available for the first match of every set.

Random Stages: Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Poke Stadium, Battlefield, Final Destination, Dreamland 64

Banned Stages: MLG rules.

(non-banned stages may be counter picked)

Fountain of Dreams and Mute City are banned in teams due to lag

Team Attack: ON

Life stealing is allowed... and this all depends if we do teams...


Illegal Conduct
Any use of glitches (ex. IC's freeze glitch), prolonged stall tactics (ex. Peach wall-bomb used to stall), and functional controler modifications (ex. L/R trigger modifications) are banned. Participating in any of these practices, along with any improper behavioral conduct (ex. physically distracting an opponate) will drop you from the tournament. Wobbling... even though I'm the only one that would do it... is not allowed.

Alright, this is the setup so far for the tournament prior to EVO held in St. George.

Northern Utahns, and Southern Utahns alike need to decide now whether or not we want a hardcore tournament, friendly tournament, expensive entry, free entry, round robin, double bracket, round robin pools into double bracket, etc...

Also, we need to figure out if we want to do teams, low tier, low tier teams, etc as well.

So, Utahn's! Whattaya think?

It looks like SUCKY Southern Utah has gotten our Northern name wrong again...of well, they are just SUCKY Southern Utah (you can't really expect much from them).

There are more than one definition of "Nasty". You are implying that it means "generally disagreeable, unpleasant, or causing discomfort" so you can make fun...but it's there to mean "likely to cause harm or to be painful" or "difficult to solve or deal with". Nasty is used in the smash scene to mean the latter (take Mike NASTY, for example). Okay, now, no more English lessons.

About the tournament...I'm not going (or AM I?!) so you shouldn't take the following more seriously than the request of those who are going:

With the seven currently listed and the 4 that you stated are also going, that makes 11 people. If you want to do another round-robin to try to give the panelists more results to based Southern Utah's skill level for the power rankings, then it shouldn't take as long as the last round-robin. If you do double elimination brackets, which may or may not take longer (my guess is, it'll take longer), then you may not have time for something else (plus, DE-brackets takes more organization than round-robin); with this, I suggest doing another round-robin tournament.

My views on the tournament are kinda mixed. I usually would just pick one, and force it upon you guys, but I kind of don't really know.

I'm leaning towards a low-tier tournament, just for fun. But as for the main event, I'm still torn.

I did! I just forgot your name is all... I would've forgotten devin's too but you say it a lot so I couldn't . Okay. so.. Heath. Like the toffee-goodness candy bar. Which break apart somewhat like ice blocks... ice climbers... xsyven... okay, memory association complete. hehe. I'm a friend of free.. I mean, we're already paying $30 ($40 for you late people) + $20 or so gas money... and then housing... $3 is kind of insignificant but also annoying >.<. Besides, PC isn't sure if he's going to EVO, so everyone would probably play... then again if he's not there I could have a chance, lol. maybe. hey, a chance I say... not how big the chance is... cmon. So I'm just rambling now, lol.

I think for the most part this tournament is for practice for us before we head to EVO, but for me it's to play you guys I haven't yet, and will hardly ever get to play. I'm leaning toward doing a Round Robin 1v1. A small entry fee like $3-5 isn't a problem for me personally, but like Bobo said there's a bunch of us coming that are barely scraping up the cash to make this trip so it might be a good idea to drop the fee all together. I just want to play Smash, so whatever happens will be alright in my book.

Meanwhile, Devin and I will rally up our crappy friends, and tell them that you guys aren't THAT good, and that they have a shot at 3rd place. Of course, this is just a scam to get more money in the pot (for Devin and I to win!), and to have a bigger turnout.

Ok, things are already looking better. We'll be there maybe around 8ish? I think we can get out of here around 3-3:30 (at the latest?), and it's like a 5 hour drive from SLC, right?

Ok, I'll let you all in on the entire plan. Gojira's busy, and he's the farthest one, so that's why time is being screwy. But anyway, he should be set to leave around 1:30. FtS and Bobo are along the way, so they complicate nothing. From Roy to St. George is slightly over 5 hours, plus quick gas stops and the small time it takes to actually pick up FtS and Bobo... sounds like we should be arriving around 7pm.
