Sewell with a capture card?

Noob question. But can a capture video on a wii using a Sewell Wii to HDMI Converter? I'm going to get an Elgato HD60. Just wanna know if it'll work before I invest.

In theory, it should. But if you are concerned about compatibility, just get the Elgato HD. It comes with an adapter for component cables.

I'm pretty sure the HD60 is only required if you intend to capture 1080p60 video. The Elgato HD still supports lower resolutions at 60fps.

I am currently running a boat load of tests with my elegato before I post anything up. Since I currently have no video editing software, I have to use the elegato's software, so I am trying to find the right balance between commentary and game sound.
