I know I'm not the only one intelligent here (unlike the melee Pika boards) and I know there are tons of threads on this already, but does anyone else see some of the broken possibilities with Pika's QAC? If you cancel a shorthop with Up B and go sideways and then down at an angle, you make massive distance.

I made a custom map on Large with just a flat surface (like Eldin) and I was moving across that in 2 QAC's.

Also, QAC to Nair is a good approach at high percents.

Also, QA now has mobility like Falco/Fox's Up B in melee. There are 16 directions you can input. If you are on the floor, and you do the Up B at a 248 degree or a 292 degree angle into the ground, you'll shoot along the ground. (That's inbetween straight down and down right/left). Not only is this useful for going through people to a QAC bair or another QAC (to another QAC.. etc) but you can also have an instant edgehog with this. If you're near the edge (max distance is something like the length of Pika + his fsmash) you will drag across the ground and automatically and instantly autosweetspot the edge.

This is barely touching the surface. I played (lol at past tense) a technical Falco in melee, and some of the movements you can do with QAC is just ridiculous.

With Pika's already awesome ownage and now his ability to move almost as fast as Sonic across the stage, gg.

And QAC infinite in place looks hella funny. :laugh:

[Edit] Oh yeah, and now that QA has 16 degrees of input, you can do an almost completely 45 degree angle recovery. One section of the QA at 45 degrees, and the other section at 67 degrees. It's really spiffy when you pull it off, as it's quite far.

I've been following QAC on the boards but I'm still unclear on some button inputs and mechanics. What is the button input to do a double horizontal QA on the ground? For the purposes of this post I'll use 0 degrees as being straight up and then going clockwise with each degree, with 90 being to the right and 180 being straight down etc.

90 -> 158 will make me double QA towards the right, canceling the QA, with the option to immediately QA afterwards? What I'm interested is if you're able to repeatedly do this and move in a continuous string of horizontal QAs accross the stage without the animation of jumping off the ground.

what about
158 ->90? That moves me in a double horizontal QA, but doesn't cancel, does it?

What kind of a movement will i get if I do
90 -> 135 or
90 -> 113?
I'm guessing the second part of the QA will cancel and make me stop where the first half of the QA finished. Do i get any distance from an angle range between straight right and down right?

shh... we don't want to reveal this to the world...

Seriously, though, I think this is the best approach in brawl. You can come below, above, behind, retreat to projectile spam, or just fly around them to give pressure. Your range of being able to attack them instantly is incredibly long, and it looks to me like its hard to punish, especially if you get good at hitting them with the quick attack.

Its also a great chase tool, and I think it will be a VERY good strategy in teams.

This could possibly place Pikachu in the Top Tier like Fox was in Melee if enough people can master it, at least in the early stages of the game. I'm sure over time things will change and people will find more and more ATs for different characters. But seriously... Pika has an insanely ridiculous amount of potential right now. Good work guys. ;)
