"Sega Dreamcast the greatest console ever"

The console has been out for twenty years and STILL is beyond popular and known, many games like my all time favorite (Marvel versus Capcom 2 <3), Street Fighter Third Strike, Sonic Adventures, and many other games that many don't know or care about are beyond popular and heck some were remade from the, Dreamcast. Not just that, but that applies for the Saturn as well (much love).

There has been rumors as well that in 2015 Sega will announce or secretly work on their second perfect console to crush every other console, payback is a .....

The console was the first ever to introduce Online play (the father) to provide for us what we can operate, today. The games were as well, phenomenal! Not one of the games did I ever dislike or, despise. The console was truly "The Ultimate Gaming Console".

Compared to these 'big three' consoles that honestly are, garbage. That really don't give you that true gaming experience, and what I'm ranting about is not that bs fancy effects, adapter fancy crap, no. I mean just straight no bs game-play that will make you think about it for years to come and NEVER forget about the games, whatsoever.

I asked everyone Online and even Offline about the, Dreamcast, everyone enjoyed it so much and not one person didn't understand or knew what I was saying/writing the information to, them.

In 2014 and 2015, people are STILL creating video games to that certain, Console.

It just shows you the console was a master-piece and truly deserved to be called that. It gave the 'big three' those ideas and examples from Sega which of course was directed from the, Dreamcast.

I can honestly write to you that many have forgotten or don't care about the older consoles from the 'big three' well, the know about them, but they never cared really, only some yes were remembered like, Mario 64, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2. For the PS2 or PS1 (Spyro) (Crash Bandinicoot) and so much more, Xbox, Halo 1 and 2 (best game from Halo).

The Dreamcast however has not been forgotten and is STILL loved and heck yes, worshiped by many. (uh yeah you read that right).

The downfall of this beauty was pure, bs. People were on drugs at that time and still are, sigh.

There was absolutely nothing that wasn't for a true gamer experience that Sega didn't make for this, master-piece. Sega put their heart and soul into this console and well, the Saturn may have not had the players but made a Godlike game called, Mortal Kombat 3 and many more, yet that didn't satisfy the 'gamers' but the Sega Dreamcast, did.

Coming from a true gamer that truly enjoys and supports every console not just one and debates over bs, this console is by far the greatest and no console will ever touch or take its place. I hope the Dreamcast 2 comes out and saves us from these bs games/consoles that honestly interest a little then fade out, onto the next game.

Nintendo may have be the best console I enjoy atm, but the Dreamcast honestly brought me into the gaming love and childhood. It will forever be the best in my heart. Fan-base is huge, the games are featured at Evo with the Dreamcast not the Xbox 360, sigh. The graphics were amazing at that time as well, it had it all that a gaming console needed. The Dreamcast is only immortalised by its death.

It was a decent machine, with a good library for its lifespan, but when you have zero copy protection, along with the loss of consumer faith Sega had caused with their Saturn debacle, it's hard to do well even with a good machine.

I agree it was sad Dreamcast didn't get its full lifespan, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it the greatest console ever made. Then again that's not really a distinction that should really be handed out.

The console however never had Online, amazing accessories, controller, and most importantly games that would last AND be played at Evo more than once. You honestly can't write to me and write the console was 'decent' good would be reasonable but 'decent' well alright man, it's your opinion.

Also you can't just say "oh it didn't have online", though. The console came out in 96 just after the world wide web actually became a thing, a small thing with an uncertain future. You have to base a lot of things on the time period.

This is why it's hard to make the call, and it's not really a healthy mentality to take. The problem with the Dreamcaat was that it was released too soon, meaning it had an awkward mix of fantastic forward thinking features held back by current tech.

Also having a game at EVO doesn't make it good, lol.

It's nice that you love the Dreamcaat, and it's cool that you think it was the best, but you shouldn't think so at the expense of being blinded to design flaws, as well as the decent quality of other consoles.

Although I can understand your frustration at suff like the Xbox brand, which has lost MS $3billion but can be kept alive became infinitely deep pockets.

Exactly it did have online for phantasy star online but got discontinued in united states but in japan i heard the server is still up but you can still play online on dreamcast just have the hack files to play phantasy star online.

There was nothing wrong at all with the console, the Dreamcast could easily go head on with the PS2.

Not only that but the true downfall was just poor marketing, no security whatsoever for moding and such, and leadership. The console was more than great. Like I wrote before, not once has anyone not enjoyed the console and games. And yes it is, a sixteen to seventeen year old game being played at Evo due to the system; Dreamcast that was used at Evo not the Xbox 360, PS2 but the DREAMCAST. Might I remind you that the console was beyond ahead from all the other consoles and even till this day. The Dreamcast could do almost everything those new 2010-2013 consoles could do and the console is like twenty something years old.

I read A LOT into this and I will honestly write that half thought the Dreamcast would die and the company if they continued to retail the console. Then the other half of the people wanted the system to continue and believed Sega gave up too early which I agree but they were sacred to go out of business and the leadership was garbage.

I also agree with the rest that Sega was a freaken genius towards making games like Mortal Kombat which I forgot if they were the first company console to have Mortal Kombat first.

Well, I could easily write they were compared to the big three which later did carry the game AFTER Sega did all the hard work and such.

The theory is this, I believe Sega is secretly working on a Dreamcast 2 (most popular and best console they ever made) and when the time is right they will release it. With way way surreal technology just like they did twenty years ago.

I even got my Sega still and the box, I checked Ebay and I found a guy selling his Sega with box for $400 and someone bought it. Wow in a few more years and this baby will be like $500 to $600 dollars hopefully.

Hmm, yes that game was amazing as well. Sad America always does that and Japan never discontinues stuff like that, Japan still has Dreamcast online play and the console is loved by many over there. Especially Marvel vs Capcom 2. MvC2 was easily the best fighting game/Sega Dreamcast game they ever made. The game is as well the best fighting game in the history of fighting games with the hardcore facts evidence and that's so true.

Anyone play MvC2? Let me show you a Surreal Anakaris and Megaman reset combos/assist and meh Storm that is well Storm.

And pretty good Servbot Akuma combo resets/ assists and such. The Servbot infinite is so hard Online man. But I've done it before on Sentinel with the Servbot infinite to a Servbot Bear hug (Hard punch) which basically grabs on for like a few seconds and gives enough time to switch to Akuma and preform his Raging Demon (2 bars). Instant kill after like a few hits the Raging Demon does the rest, Godlike!

Ha ha great, who's your team? Let me guess, Magneto, Storm, Sentinel, he he. The team id so overrated and you honestly just need a good assist and Storm to make it even pretty much.

I always felt Storm, Cable, and Sentinel are the new cheesy team.

Great man I mean it, cherish that game, it's the best fighting game ever.

Mhm, yes I feel it, too much rumors from many different sites, people, and even pictures. I know it could be something else but I'm feeling ever so strong that they will release a new console in a blink of an eye. I don't feel they will throw trailers and such. They will release it when they know they have surpassed the 'big three' once more but in a later generation which is, now! I mean rumors are pretty much just rumors.

But I know Sega wants to make more consoles but they are afraid. They put work in their work. They deserved to be top not this Monopoly bs going on with just three that barely put in any work and are ruining series like Silent Hill, Killer Instinct, Marvel vs, and so on.

As for the rumor dilemma, I know Sega is working with different companies for software games, but I honestly don't believe that's all they are doing. I feel there is more to it, than just working with other companies just for software purposes. And they fired their old president who sucked completely; keep in mind Sega has a sad tale about garbage leadership which lead to Sega's best invention anda falling for gaming, the Dreamcast. The president that said they wont be making no more consoles and joining the marketing business was later on fired due to that incident and as was, garbage leadership!

So I feel it man, Dreamcast will live on and it deserved to be the best before but, this time they will yield in its power.

Pretty fascinating team you have there man seems like a strong team. Well, they're rumors, but, I have my reasons to believe the Dreamcast 2 will be released in the near future. I just feel it man let's not give up hope.Well, they lost some money and don't forget that once the N64 joined up that was when Sega discontinued the Sega Dreamcast but they could of continued yet they were, SACRED. So, they could of continued to see, but they didn't risk losing millions of dollars. As well keep in mind that the old president at that time was fired due to poor leadership.I can honestly write without a shadow of a doubt that if the Dreamcast 2 is here, the big three will be history. Either-way, some people don't even deserve to be able to purchase the Dreamcast to begin with. Since they will eat their words later on. They chose a decision to buy the Playstation 2 which isn't even remembered but the nice menu intro. I only remembered like a few shooting games, one fighting game (Mortal Kombat) and some racing games.

Keep in mind I never purchased one because it wasn't that great but that DVD feature sure made a huge impact, huh? I wonder if they installed a cup holder next time or like a vacuum feature into their consoles oh man would everyone soil themselves from pure astonishment. Now the Dreamcast however is beyond remembered and the machine till this day has 2014 and now 2015 games for this thing of beauty. Unless Sega releases the Dreamcast 2 which still the Dreamcast wont be forgotten even from the new release of the Dreamcast 2.

The rumors that I wont ever forget is this, the console would be able to play every game disk there is, CD,DVD, new hand motion, visual motion and so much more. If Sega could invent a machine that was ahead of its time and still till this day can operate pretty much everything those 2010-2014 consoles could carry and it's a twenty year old console then I wouldn't be surprised if they made the next console that is new and improved and once more ahead of its time like twenty years ago. Nintendo is in debt, Sony is okay, Microsoft is actually the wealthiest out of the big three due to the Online market and being able to buy all those old games; best Online and so much more yet the console is terrible in general.

Nintendo will survive due to Pokemon of course, Smash of course and a few games and their discombobulated Online feature. Everything else is a waste of time since their extra isn't seen to make them wealthier one bit, only the games is what's keeping Nintendo alive oh and the little kids like you and me growing up on them later on. Sony idk about too well, Xbox pretty much has everything Sony has but one game will change that for sure, SF5!

So, Sega could strike like a Viper without even knowing when. That's the beauty of Guerrilla warfare tactics. Sega works for all the big three company's software, has more than enough finical income to join the marketing business, and could understand how to improve their software through working with others and such which I know they have and will strike any moment. This all seems too much to understand or process to be more exact, but I feel what I'm writing is going to come true. My apologies for my long paragraph rants; I need to tone my writing down a lot more sorry man.
