So this may sound really silly to ask, but how exactly do you all find out who your secondary is, assuming you have one? I have been trying to find a secondary for myself, but despite there being 40+ characters in in Project M, I literally have not found a character that I even come remotely close to playing well with like I do with my current main Sonic. I'm really trying to figure out exactly who it could be, but I haven't the faintest clue as to how I'm going to figure out. You would think it would be simple and I have tried a few of my other favorite characters, but I wouldn't say I am necessarily "good" with them. I don't mean to sound like a noob, but some advice would be nice.

You don't need a secondary

In fact, below high level play, it will only hold you back from getting better at the game. Learn every matchup with sonic, even the bad ones. Even seriously disadvantageous matchups are still winnable unless you're playing at the top top level of play, which you aren't. Just play sonic, get as good at sonic as humanly possible, and then reevaluate whether or not you want a secondary once you need to.

I'm inclined to agree with you to a certain degree as even when I am fighting against a character or someone using a character that I can't deal with very well with Sonic. I will say that with the three characters I find the most troublesome while using Sonic that I have picked on some things, but it hasn't been quite enough.

The best secondary is getting better at the game, especially for a character that doesn't need a secondary like Sonic. Running from disadvantageous matchups limits your overall improvement.

EDIT: That being said, nobody's saying you can't have secondaries. I have a couple of secondaries I play purely because I like them. Any matchups they might cover are icing on the cake if I'm in the mood to play them that day.
