Secondaries/Counterpicks

What characters do you use as your secondaries to Ganondorf? I would think you would need a faster character that does better vs. ICs, Falco, MK and the like. Personally, I've been considering and playing as R.O.B., Marth, and Falco. I'm very curious though, in your experiences, what one character is the best Secondary for Ganon?

I don't really have a secondary... i just keep getting better with ganon

(DK is the only other character ive played somewhat regularly, its just to fun to cargo throw people into the stage FTW)

I've been playing some DDD but I can't quite get the handle for him. My snake is good though, so i'll work on that. Thanks bunches. Also@ canswer, I think me playing the least played character makes up for me sometimes using the most popular char.

hahaha bummer. I'm really not a fan of him it turns out and my falco is getting really good so i think i'll just stick with those two mainly perhaps. I still think there has to be a character that beats out ICs, Falco, and MK for Ganondorf but w/e

I just play who I like. See I have a keen thing for weighted but strong guys so my secondary is actually Ike. I also use DK and Link every now and then.

Samus. She's quicker than Ganondorf and has some ranged attacks. She's a little tough to kill with if you're not very familiar with her(down and up tilts are the key), but she also has the extremely nifty z-air that lets you own the sky.


She seems to work fine enough for me anyway.

I think G&W is the best secondary for Ganondorf mains. I actually main G&W and Mario personally, and Ganondorf and Captain Falcon are my secondaries.

He's reeeealy good against MK and DDD (a LEGIT counter to both) and most projectile spammers (amazing against Falco ftw). He also has a very good techchase game that destroys lightweight characters. His D-air is an amazing fastfall aerial attack and his F-air is an amazing kill move.

G&W in my opinion actually plays similarly to Ganondorf, but he has more priority and lingering hitboxes and mobility, and more grab range. Plus better recovery and safer kill moves of course. However, the focus is very similar with both characters. Techchasing, ledgeguarding, and being a lot stronger than your opponent. Not to mention crazy IASA frames.

Oh, and I'll add one more thing. We need moar pro G&W mains. Like seriously, unless I'm mistaken, all the top pros use MK, Snake, DDD, and maybe Falco, but almost none of them use G&W...except for maaaaaaybe xyz and Hylian, if they count as top pros. <<

if i'm not mistaken, Sliq hasn't been going to tourneys with ganon, meaning we have 0 as well. haha G&W is doing fine
