Searching For The Old

Now, this is a bit of an odd request, but I'm looking for an old game. An MS DOS game that I used to play as a kid.

I don't remember the name (in fact, I probably never knew it), but what I do remember is this:
  • It was a point and click game.
  • All the backgrounds were painted, I think it was oil painting, not sure
  • It took place on an island, and on many of the screens taking place outside you could see the volcano on the island, from different angles and distances depending on where you were.
  • There were interior rooms and ruins
  • You could find gold and idols/ruins in the areas, and you needed to collect them
  • If there was a higher goal, I never knew it
  • Once again, MS DOS. Don't think it was ever on another OS, but, as before, I don't really know.

I want to find this game because I remember that it had very interesting music, that I really want to find and get onto my computer somehow (I hope it's not a lost cause...).

Also, another request. If anyone has the game The Universe According To Virgil Reality (another oldie, but this one was Windows 95) by 7th Level, and can get the music off the CD, I'm hoping one could post the song, "It Could Be You" somewhere I can be downloaded, or direct me somewhere where it is already stored (I've already tried Galbadia, which seems to deal only in console games...). When I was a kid, that song really inspired me, and I still know almost all the lyrics.

Escape from Monkey Island?
No... it wasn't Monkey Island. One think I remember is that the player character was not visible on screen, just where you were. And the art was drawn in a more realistic style..

Plus, the only collectibles that I remember being prominent were the gold/wooden idols (i think), and they showed up everywhere...

Not Myst... It was an old style point and click, where clicking on a part of the screen took you to another part, without change over.

When you said "Painted Graphics" I immediately thought of the Hugo series of games, but none of those are point and click. ****, this will be hard. If it's older, and in DOS, you will likely never find it without more detail. DOS had a TON of adventure games.

Aye. I fear you're right. But I can't help but try. I think my old MS-DOS still works... If push comes to shove, I can still find the file... maybe...
