SD card problems

I went out and got a 2GB sd card as it said was needed on the installation page, but when I put it into my computer to put the files on it, it said it was 3.7GB. I assumed this wouldn't be a problem since the card said it was just an SD card rather than an SDHC card. After I put the files on and put the card into my wii, I went to the stage editor and nothing happened. Could this just be because the card is too big? If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Alternatively, is there any way to reduce the size of the files? i also have a 512mb card that it says is 18.8mb short of being able to hold project m.

If your SD Card is bigger than 2GB, it's SDHC, so that's your problem. As for reducing the file size, I'm not sure. I figure messing with anything will probably mess up your P:M.
