SD Card Brand?

Hey all. So I accidentally left my Wii on that stand-by mode in the middle of a match for maybe an hour, and it somehow bricked the SD card. I tried to reformat it but my computer didn't recognize it, and it actually crashed the computer when using the disk management macro.

So I'm going to buy a new SD card, but I just wanted to double check that the brand doesn't matter right? As long as it's a normal sized SD, not SDHC, PM should run right? I can buy Sandisk, Transcend, PNY, or this and it won't matter?

You might want to check the specific SD card against this list (I know this list is aimed at Homebrew Channel users, but it's likely still relevant to hackless users, since PM is by definition a form of homebrew no matter how it's loaded). Glancing over that list, Sandisk and Transcend mostly work (I've been using a standard 2 GB blue Sandisk card for years now with no issues), and PNY is a bit more hit-and-miss. That card you linked isn't listed though. Doesn't mean it won't work, just that no-one has tested it yet.

Thanks a bunch. Luckily the store had 2 GB PNY cards and those worked just fine.

RIP in piece Sandisk card, you had a good life.
