Scrub here, would like some help with terminology

So I'm new to the competitive scene, and my friends have been using a lot of terms that I'm not used to. I was hoping to find some sort of guide that just outlines what everything means but I may have missed it in my search.

Can someone give me a bit of a run down of the language used by the competitive community so I have a better idea what the guides are saying?

Defining terminology is basically the only thing smash wiki says that is true.

I mean, if people'd like to dedicate some more resources to fixing that issue, it'd be great. But it seems that a lot of people would prefer to just direct people to long videos and Smashboards posts instead.

But yea. And as an added note, if it doesn't show up on the wiki or whatever, try googling "SSB <name of term>" and see if anything shows up there. Between the two (and good commentators/people willing to explain), it's pretty manageable to find out whatever you're after.
