Is it possible to view screenshots saved to an SD card outside of the game and Miiverse? With the 3DS version, it was possible.

Well, Brawl snapshots saved on an SD card needed a file converter in order to be seen on a PC and I believe such thing is also needed for Smash Wii U. And since the game came out just yesterday, I might take some time.

For what I did, I just took a photo, viewed it in the Vault, and then uploaded to Miiverse, ending with saving it on my computer (makes a 800x450 size photo).

Oh, really? Well that's a bit of a bummer for me.... I hope if one does make a file converter, that it's a bit more stable than the one for Brawl.... :T

I guess Miiverse will probably have to do for now.

I may be wrong in some cases as I never played with my SD card after taking it out from the system.

I see, Well I do hope its possible to directly view the screenshots off the SD card without any conversions and whatnot.

I liked how they did it in the 3DS version so I was kinda hoping they would do the same for the Wii U version and all.... :T

It's better than nothing, I suppose, although it is disappointing you can only have them at that resolution.

I tried to upload during the pause screen to imgur in the hopes I could get it at a higher resolution, but it wouldn't let me upload it. It got stuck trying.

I don't see why Sakurai couldn't save them as .jpgs as in the 3DS version.

You can take them from your SD Card like on 3DS. I'm pretty sure that's how people in the Rosalina boards were posting screenshots.

If not, use Wii U Image Share to upload uncompressed screenshots to Tumblr (Facebook and Twitter will compress, though):

You pretty much have to take a snapshot, and then view it on your computer to get the 1920x1080 pixel size. Miiverse only gives you 800x450 pixel screenshots, while uploading the screenshot onto an image hosting site, via, the Wii U, only gives you a 1280x720 pixel screenshot.

Oh yeah, the Wii U image share, now why didn't I think of that. That should be really useful. Guess I should open up a Tumblr page for this. Thanks Sonicbrawler. :)

I don't have any of those. I wish that you could just do it directly. I don't understand why Nintendo didn't provide that option. But thank you for the heads up.

EDIT: You can use certain image-uploading sites to post screenshots and then save them to your PC. I had trouble with Imgur, but Minus works well.
