Screen brightness changing

I've had project M working on my Wii for about a month now, but it has started acting strange.

Almost as soon as the match starts, the screen suddenly dims like I'm changing the brightness settings on my TV.

I am playing on an HD SAMSUNG 5300 smart TV on 480p.

It is just PM. I do like normal. Go to character builder. it launches. Bam.

This only happens when the match begins. Sometimes it gets brighter than darker again, but most of the time the match starts and goes for about 5 seconds before getting dark.

tried other monitors?

It only happens on this monitor, but it is the only one I can play on due to it being the only HDTV in the house with a fast enough processor to not have input lag.

but testing on other and not playing, gives a consistent colour?

The TV that has input lag gives consistent color and brightness. yes.
