Scott Skiles gave up on his team. Is it really possible the Bulls could be tanking?

First of all, the reason the shots usually dont fall in the 2nd half = the Bulls were considered elite (NBA Finals) before the season. Teams are not playing defense they play against good teams (Raptors, Nets, Hornerts) they are playing Pistons, Mavs, Suns defense on our helpless bulls.

Now, to get to my main topic. The Bulls once again fell behind because of early shots that didnt fall. But

SCOTT SKILES IS THE REASON THE BULLS LOST THIS GAME!

With 6 minutes to go, Scott Skiles told his team he had no confindence in them, and preceeded to empty the bench.

He took out the best players and effectively ended the game. When I saw that, I saw a coach tell his very talented, should have been a great team, that he didnt think they could win, it was pointless to try, and that he was giving up six minutes before the clock ran out.

I dont want to think the Bulls, or Skiles, are/is tanking. It doesnt make sense. But can they really win ANY close/possible-come-back games if this happens? The only explenation for tanking (and possibly Deng's mysterious injury) is that Paxson knows that he wont be bringing Deng and Gordon back.

History shows that PAXSON DOES NOT BEND ON HIS DEALS, and maybe this holds true to the deals Deng and Gordon turned down. So he has his coach tank, just like he did the year before Deng and Gordon arrived. At the end of the year, he ends up doing long negotiations, until a very unexpected trade happens.

Much like the Curry trade, he sends Deng someplace, gets a lotter pick, and a future unprotected pick or something. He does the same with Gordon.

The Bulls now have 3 lottery picks, which he uses to replace Gordon and Deng, add a low post scorer, and keep the Bulls way under the cap, all while retaining Hinrich, Wallace, Nocioni, Thomas, and Noah.

The Bulls, next year, start Hinrich, Wallace, Thomas, and the replacements to Deng and Gordon, make another powerful march into the playoffs on hardwork and defense, this time though the newcommers have veteran stars Wallace and Hinrich with them, and are able get to the 2nd round and maybe the conference finals.

The year after that, the teams the Bulls traded with each give them another lottery pick, and the Bulls enter the season with a roster of Wallace, Hinrich, Nocioni, Sefolosha, Thomas, Noah, Duhon, and 5 new lottery picks (2 each from the deng/gordon trades, and the Bulls own from this year).

With possibly the deepest team in NBA history, the Bulls plow through the Eastern conference, and make it to the NBA Finals, winning a championship for the first time ever in the post Jordan/Pippen era.

Ben Wallace, after dominating the Finals with defense, retires as a proud Chicago Bull and fan favorite. With all the cap room that the Bulls saved by not signing Deng and Gordon, the Bulls are able to put major money in a free agent to fill Wallace's role as the new starting center.

John Paxson looks like a genious, just like he did with the Curry trade.

Honestly, after seeing what Scott Skiles did, I have several times tried to find an exlenation that had some logic and I cant. All I can see is that the Bulls could be tanking.

And this is a bucnh of crap. This team could get to the Finals if their coach had confidence in them. Today a lottery trip was confirmed with this loss to the Lakers.

I am extremely offended.

I am Scott Skiles, and this is all a bunch of lies. Do not believe a word Drclaw wrote.

I'm disgusted. I'm the reason the Bulls got as far as they did.

Meh, I saw that Drclaw put a lot of effort into this thread, and that it was going off the first page without a single reply. I decided to step in and do something, but I know next to nothing about basketball, so that was the best I had.

Is that really so bad?

first of all; the bulls are not the deepest team in NbA history. They are a very talented young team who have 2 major weaknesses:
1. they have no low post game( Tyrus Thomas is to inconsistent and Ben wallace...

2. they don't have a consistent scorer who can get them 20-30 points a night.

Ben Gordon is by all means a talented player , but when his jump shot isn't going he's worthless. Kirk hinrich is a very good PG who is a streaky shooter and an average penetrator. Loul Deng has a ton of talent but too often settles for jumpshots. The bulls lack a good penetrator who, when his shot is off, can go to the hoop and draw fouls.
The bulls are however, a very unselfish team who share the ball and play good D. Hinrich gets his teammates lots of open looks when he's in the zone and Ben Gordon, (when Hot) is easily one of the top 10 shooters in the game. What I'm saying is : The bulls need to somehow get a low post threat or a consistent scorer. then they will be a contender in the east.
