Not exactly sure where you are in northern Maryland, but Xanadu hosts tournaments for both of those games in Laurel. You can find more information on them at https://www.facebook.com/XanaduGames/
I also recommend that you look into joining the respective MDVA Facebook groups for both games. Most events are advertised there nowadays.
