Without those prophets, this board would continue to downward spiral into stale and overdone topics.

I thought it was made clear that in order for a forum board based solely on a video game that has not been released yet to live is to have controversy. Controversy builds argumentive mediums so that there can be debate once more, and on an entirely new thing.

The prophets breath fresh air in this section of smashboards with their "knowledge" of Brawl. Ever since all this leak business and whatnot started, Smashboards has become impossible to navigate, and why is this?

Over-strenuous server work. That's right. SO MANY PEOPLE LOGGED ON TO SMASHBOARDS BECAUSE OF THE PROPHET'S; NOTHING MORE. They sure as hell didn't come her to argue your stale arguments of why Geno or Ridley should or should not get in.

So yea, don't believe them if you want, or do, it dosen't matter.

but you **** well should respect them for taking time out of their life to give you people something to talk about.

This seems to be true. I didn't believe so otherwise, but what you say makes sense. Bravo for changing my mind.

Way to assume everyone wants server overloads due to noobs wanting to cling on to whatever loser decides to post rumors on a message board.

I don't care if this board is stale. I'd rather it be mainly used to discuss actual leaks and footage as we approach the date of release. I don't give a **** about their half-***** theories and manipulation of coincidences into pseudo-facts, nor do I want to have to deal with the militant, brain-dead cronies that defend these rumors while they stand on their paper pedestals talking down on those smart enough to skip the bandwagons.

Also, **** you for telling me who I should respect. Your points are not valid since they are represantative of your own preference for message board activities, and make no effort to take into account how others feel about it.

I've gotta admit, we'll be looking back at all these prophets, and without them it'd have been a lot more "boring" hyping up the game ;)

Give them a round of applause for being noobs! :3

At first, maybe. The problem is after a very short while it gets extremely tiresome and stale in itself. And it's not anywhere near as satisfying as ultimately the vast majority of - if not all - leaks are proven wrong. And the debates aren't fun, because they aren't debates. They are people arguing over things which aren't a matter of opinion, and often are completely pointless. What's more, there are so many 'prophets' that they flood the boards, and everyone gets used to attempting to ignore them. The problem with this is people can easily miss any real 'leaks' (if they exist), and a lot of people become grumpy, cynical and just plain no fun.

And I don't enjoy the server crashing, personally.

Proof is the only thing I'm interested in, not some fairy tale about being a janitor at the NoA facilities in Redmond who got locked in overnight and went through all the top secret Brawl archives.

Also, **** you for telling me who I should respect. Your points are not valid since they are representative of your own preference for message board activities, and make no effort to take into account how others feel about it.
QFT. People would be better off, ya know, doing something else entirely if there is nothing to discuss about Smash.

Yeah we should definitely respect the immature teenagers that sit at home on their computers with nothing better to do, for wasting 20 seconds of their lives to post nonsense on random message boards in order to fool gullible people into believing their obviously fake lies and horribly photoshopped screenshots.

I agreed with everything you said up until there. We don't need to thank them for anything. They haven't done anything important other than make things up. Sure, some of them were entertaining and would have been nice if they were real, but in the end all it is is a waste of time and space. I'm glad they're giving people something to talk about but in no way am I thankful to them.

It really depends on if they are true or not, hard to tell if something is good if you can't possibly see the truth in it.

If it's real then they are trying to give us what we asked for, despite puting up with all the flaming some people make them put up with, I think some of it is totaly uncalled for, when people claim something unlikely you can't do that, I've met loads of people who claim outrages things, one of thems a really good friend of mine. It all depends on what I think is true, if I don't beleive them then I just don't except it.

I will say I am convinced somewhat by a few of the prophets in the smash community, just because of the things they have proved and how alot of them agree on this 35 roster. Show Me Your News puts the evidence up pretty nicely.

Causing stress onto people whom already have a stressful life outside of finding out this possible information?

I guess so.. Gives some topics and stuff.. But still they caused a lot of overdone topics in the process too....

I wouldn't normally point that out, but seriously, you're a n00b. too new to post about how smashboards is going to be boring without the "leakers" AKA trolls.

I'd rather they didn't flood this forum with crap and that we could talk sensibly about real information and Melee really. I can't even get to the Regional Zone half the time because of people talking endlessly about Ridley.

This is where you get into a whole philosophical issue that you might aswell avoid. The only reason we'd reply to a prophets thread is if we believed it and wanted to show support, or are angry at how fake they are and how much attention they attract. Why should people be happy to talk about things that are making them mad? We should be happy they made us mad and gave us something to talk about? No no.

People who lie on the internet on public forums and chat rooms to attract attention are the most annoying type of liars!
