Savage 2: A Tortured Soul

Since the other topic basically spiraled into Savage discussion, I figured I could use the forums as a way to get interest in the game.

Savage (at www.s2games.com) was one of the only games of it's type. The game combined FPS and RTS genres into one game in an MMO format. Whoever was in the role of commander, would be play the game in an RTS style, while the selected grunts would be players in an FPS format.

Essentially, now you can register an account, vote for anticipation, and even pre-order. The game is foregoing publishing fees and is able to charge just $29.99 and make the game downloadable when ready.

Evidently I can refer all of you if necessary, so I just need e-mails so I can get referral points for further information. At the very least, it will allow for game developers to take more control of their projects if this is successful. So why not let me refer you, help me get some items, and get in on the beta.

I'll try to get into it after I throw this piece of crap I call I computer out thw window. What graphics card is good enough? They just said geforce or raedon, but they didn't say which one? I'd hate to get screwed over by buying an inferior one, and I'd hate to buy the very best one since one costs like $300 here. The more money I can save the better.

It really depends on your processor and such. I'd say you'd go great with a NVida Gefore 6800. But you can make due with any that has about 256mb.

I am bumping to add some screenshots. Also, I found out that due to the NDA I signed, I can't mention much from the beta that's starting in a week or so. I will try hard to get around it, but no pics.

It looks like it has some RPG elements too, I can see the RTS characteristics like gold and the radar in the HUD. I like RTS' a lot even though I'm a bit inexperienced at telling the good from the bad [Starcraft is great, at least what I played on the demo, Age of empires is classic, and I haven't had a chance to play Empire Earth but it sounds great] but I've played enough to know I like the genre.

Definitely looks worth upgrading for but I doubt I'll be able to upgrade soon [my parents take forever to get stuff I want] so I don't know what I'll do until then.

Beta Testing started today. The NDA won't let me post pics or anything, but I'll give my general feelings on it once it's up and running a bit smoother.

Awesome so far, though.
