Smash Rookie
Santa Fe and Albuquerque are collaborating on their second Smash Fiesta. The first one happened this last March and had a good turnout; because of this, we're aiming hard to make this a quarterly regional.
What to know!
WHAT GAME:
-Smash Bros. for Wii U
WHERE:
Santa Fe, New Mexico at Warehouse 21.
WHEN:
Saturday, June 4th. We open doors @ 10:30 for friendlies. Start time is pending -- will post final schedule when it's decided.
HOW MUCH:
-$5 venue
-$5 singles
-$4 per person per team for doubles
POT BONUS:
-$200 and climbing!
HOW TO REGISTER:
Go to http://smash.gg/fiesta2 to register. Registering online will save you a few bucks as opposed to registering at the door. Also your seed will be given a priority if you register through smash.gg. If for some reason you cannot or refuse to register through there, we will offer at the door registration. You have until June 1st to register.

HOUSING:
-If you are coming up North we can prioritize any Santa Fe housing we have for you.
-If you are coming more South, East, or West we have PLENTY of housing in Albuquerque for you. It's a 45-60 minute drive from Santa Fe, but you'd be welcome to come hang out with us for some post tourney friendlies at our homes.
PAYOUT:
-Singles & doubles: To be determined. Will update when that's decided.
-Auction tournament: 50% to 1st place - 50% to NM's Smash scene to help improve their stream.
PARKING:
-There is a parking lot outside of Warehouse 21. It's a paid parking lot, it's $2 an hour, you would only need to pay until 6:30PM. There are more details on the smash.gg page.
STREAM:
-This will be streamed on http://twitch.tv/finalsmashtv
-If you have an interest in commentating, please contact me and send me a video of you commentating on a previous match, either on your own local's stream or recording. If there is none, message me anyway and we can try to figure out something.
RULES:
-Singles (essentially EVO rules):
Basics
-2 stock
-6 minute
-Best of 3 in pools and bracket until top 8, then it is best of 5
-Bans are 1-2-1, rock, paper, scissors at the beginning to determine who strikes first. The winner of game 1 will strike 1 stage, loser can pick from the remaining. Rinse and repeat if the loser of game 1 wins game 2.
-All controllers aside from gamepads are allowed. Please remove batteries from your controllers when you are done; if your controller is a nuisance we will ask you to remove the batteries, pro controller or Wii remote alike
-All DLC is allowed
-Only 1-1-1-1 and normal sized Miis allowed
-Dave's Stupid Rule is in effect -- you may not repick a stage you have previously won on unless agreed upon.
-Any character that initiates a suicide move to take the last stock is considered the winner, regardless of victory screen.

-3 stock
-8 minute
-Best of 3 -- losers finals, winners finals, and grand finals are best of 5
-Bans are 1-2-1, rock, paper, scissors at the beginning to determine who strikes first. The winner of game 1 will strike 1 stage, loser can pick from the remaining. Rinse and repeat if the loser of game 1 wins game 2. -- IF the game is in losers/winners/grand finals there will be no bans after game 1.
-All controllers aside from gamepads are allowed. Please remove batteries from your controllers when you are done; if your controller is a nuisance we will ask you to remove the batteries, pro controller or Wii remote alike
-All DLC is allowed
-Only 1-1-1-1 and normal sized Miis allowed
-Dave's Stupid Rule is in effect -- you may not repick a stage you have previously won on unless agreed upon.

All 58 characters will be assigned a number in order of how they appear on the CSS. One by one a character will be selected, players may place bids in $1 increments if they want to play as said character in the tournament. They can ONLY play that character throughout the tournament. A random number generator will be used to determine which character is up.
-You may not give your character to another player.
-You may not gentleman to play as other characters.
-You must pay for your character immediately as they are purchased (bring money! we cannot take cards)
-You may not take back a bid, joke bids will be considered real bids.
-You may not bid on another character after you have already won a character.
-You may not switch characters with another player.
-You may not ask to give your character back if another character you like comes up.
