Ive tried searching, but have found no conclusive video evidence.

Q: How is the Bomb Recovery in Brawl? Is it still a viable option, similar to melee?

Ummm. Its doable. Once you get the hang of it, its rather similar...but I really really really recommend you never use bombs. They are really bad.

You dont need the recovery often, and for movement they are ok, but they have some really serious drawbacks that got me destroyed playing earlier.

First, they are alot harder to control and appear to send you less far when used. Not a huge deal, but worth noting.

Second, the explosion timing seems different *and* you react differently to your own bombs. This is the big one here. You know how you could bomb someone in mid-air and immediately drop an aerial in melee? Well you cant in brawl. For TWO horrible reasons.
-You *cannot* cancel the morph ball animation. If you bomb jump, you are stuck in morph ball until it goes back to Samus, while its not terribly long...its long.
-Bombs *will not* explode on your enemies until their natural explosion time is up. Your opponents will be thrilled to know that bombs will not impede their approach in the slightest anymore, as all evidence pointed to the bombs having a preset explosion timer and never exploding when coming in contact with anything.

So, really. Dont use bombs too much. Its a bad habit for brawl.
