Hey ya'll.
So Gamexplain, along with a few other sources including the several streamers of the game have found out that there seems to be NO online options for smash run. This means that unless you have a lot of friends nearby (Which I'm sure almost none of us do) you cannot play Smash Run with anyone except CPUs.
So here's my question: Should this be considered the biggest blunder in Smash 3DS's chances of remaining a relevant game? I've always been a supporter of the 3DS over the Wii U version, though I believe both are perfectly valid versions. Sakurai has gone to a lot of trouble to include great features. We have more characters than ever before, the gameplay has shifted away from Brawl's defensive play to a faster style (Though of course it is not melee either), and the online has been vastly iimproved by including the for fun and for glory modes.
However, the 3DS's claim to fame is essentially Smash Run. The Wii U will have the same modes for the most part as the 3DS, and the only 3DS exclusive mode we know of (Maybe because it was pushed so heavily in the Directs and the PotDs) and seemed like the greatest chance for the 3DS to make a separate name for itself.
While several people believe it wouldn't be competitively viable (and they may be right, but we don't know for certain as of yet) it certainly would have made a great online feature for casuals and great side events at tournaments. Several people have mentioned this before.
My question is in two parts.
How badly do you believe this gimps the 3DS version from being a more unique smash experience?
Do you think nintendo and Sakurai will fix their mistake by patching the game so Smash Run can be played online at a later date? (I don't know how possible this is, but it's the only idea I could think of).
