Smash Cadet
It has been exactly one year since S@PS Weekly came to be, and since then, it has grown into a series that's bigger than I ever would've imagined when I created it. As such, I feel that the 1 year anniversary of S@PS should be celebrated. Regional Crew battles, raffles, pot bonuses, and more are all strong possibilities at what will be the biggest S@PS in history. I hope that you choose to join us in celebrating both the creation of our smash weekly as well as its growth into the future.
Venue: West Halls Waring Commons, University Park, PA, 16802. This is the venue where all of our weeklies have taken place over the last semester. However, if the registrant count gets too high, we may have to look at a bigger room on campus.

As of now I don't plan to run PM as the community is in disarray, the entrant counts at our weeklies are often less than 8, and it would take away time from the other special events.
Schedule:
Doubles events will start at 1PM
Singles events will start at 5PM
This is subject to change once the special events are announced.
Rulesets:
---------------------------------MELEE RULES--------------------------------
Stage Striking: Players eliminate stages from the Starter/Neutral stagelist until there is one stage remaining. The player or team without port priority strikes first. Then the other player/team strikes two stages. Then the player/team with port priority strikes one more stage and the remaining stage is used for the first game of the set.
Stage Bans: After each game of the set, before counterpicking, the player who won the previous game may ban one stage from the stagelist. This rule is not in effect for best-of-5 sets. All stage bans affect both players, meaning players who banned a stage may NOT counterpick that stage themselves later in the set.
Stage Clause: A player/team may not counterpick any stage they previously won on during the set.
Neutral Start: The following ports are to be used when a player/team invokes the neutral start clause. Any necessary port combinations must be enforced by the neutral start invoking player for each different stage throughout the set. This is the offical way to do neutral starts and the opposing player can refuse to neutral start if the correct ports are not used.

-----------------------------ADDITIONAL RULES----------------------------
Stand Clause: A player wishing to leave the setup during a tournament set may only do so with the verbal consent of the opponent. This clause is void in the event of an emergency.
Trick Clause: At any point in the set, a player may request for the other player to say what stages they have already won on during the banning/counterpicking process. However, if a player selects a counterpick and the opponent agrees, it must be honored. You are not allowed to take back your selection after making a mistake.
Coach Clause: There is no coaching permitted at any part of any set once it begins.
Colorblind Clause: Players may request that their opponent change colors to accommodate colorblindedness, or if their color is indistinguishable from either the other team color or the stage background. This request must be made before the first game of the set.
Gentleman's Clause: The two players/teams may agree to go to any LEGAL stage within the rules.
Double Blind Clause: Either player may request a double blind character select for the first game. In this situation, a third party is told, in secret, each player’s character choice. Both players then select their character, and the third party validates that the character selected is the same as what they said.
All DQs due to tardiness will be COMPLETE DQs. Meaning you won't be put into the losers bracket, you will be removed from the tournament.
No refusal to play on certain setups barring extreme circumstances. All players agree to have their matches recorded if requested by the TO.
For any disputes or grey area, please contact the TO to settle it. DO NOT assume you're handling it in the correct way.
