Russian smash scene?

Unfortunately, no. Russia does not have a "scene." What Russia has is a strong following of very casual players. The reason it isn't competitive here is because Nintendo isn't very active in our country at all. However, games such as Super Street Fighter 4 and Guilty Gear: AC are very popular. Unfortunately, competitive play even for those games is very limited. Cities with a large European/Western influence such as Moscow and Saint Petersburg are the hubs of the Russian fighting game community.

For Smash, however, I'm afraid you're out of luck. There are two Melee players, however, in Saint Petersberg who are active. I'm the only other player there is (I'll be back in Vladivostok in April).
