A method of running at an increased speed very similar to Fox trotting.

Start a dash. Once the dash is started smash back then forward, back then forward etc. in the correct rhythm(rather fast) and your character will continue running in the initial direction at the acceleration speed (has the dust kicking up) not the running speed. It's ultimately Melee Fox trotting.

I wouldn't really call this an "Adv. Tech' since it's so easy to pull off. Rather, the only thing it really achieves are mindgames and to tell you the truth, EVERYTHING you do is a mindgame. From repeated spotdodging, to SHLing, to repeated shorthops.

This method of dashing really has no direct benefit, of which like advanced techs, Falco Pillars and Shine Spiking do. Mindgame methods shouldn't all be listed as an "advanced tech" just because it tries to pull your opponent for a loop. If that was true, then random Falcon Punches would be an advanced tech because of the sheer surprise factor during the match.

Running faster has no direct benefit? It's an advanced tech because it's not an intended standard method of playing the game. Shine spiking is simply using a move - and is not at all an advanced tech. Its a common move in the games of advanced players more than beginners but otherwise its using one move for its intended purpose.
I suggest you reread what I have instructed and give it a try. If you do it correctly you will find it's simply a mind game...thats what dash dancing is for - this actually makes it faster to chase down an opponent and continue striking them - therefore it's an advanced tech, as it achieves the same thing as something like waveshine.

The Sun.
I tested your theory, and you're timing the foxtrot wrong. I was able to get your desired effect with normal tapping. Sorry.

Thanks - You can do it that way though I don't find its as fast. A benefit of using back to cancel it instead is that you can smash out of it at any time rather than dash also. I also tend to trip by regular fox-trotting.
