Running PM without Brawl disc?

Hi there. I'm new to PM and am struggling to get it installed (like many others it seems - sorry for being "that guy").

Anyways, I was wondering, do I need the retail Brawl disc in order to play PM? I play Brawl off of a hard drive through the Homebrew channel. I've put PM on the harddrive in the apps folder, turned on Ocarina etc, but still can't get it to work when I run Brawl through USBloader. Help would be really appreciated.

I wanna say you do require the SSBB disc, but then again, I've never used the mod, so don't quote me on this.

So... yes you need a Brawl disc.

You can use a USB loader, but I'm not going to go into detail because that's frowned upon. You should be able to find those resources easily on your own.
