Do images absolutely have to be linked to a host site?

Unless you're planning on posting artwork, this is not the place to ask questions like that.

But to my knowledge, yes. SWF supports avatar uploads, but not the images you're probably wanting to post.

Just put the link in image tags and you're good to post any pictures.

For example. Suppose I wanted to post a picture of a Shiba Inu, but don't want to upload it on photobucket, or another host site.

http://d1715014.u69.jodoshared.com/photos/3a/1334x9_1.jpg is the image name. Put that inbetween image tags. [ IMG] x, y, z [ /IMG]

Simple as that. But like Spire said, undeserving of a thread.

What I meant was that this is a physical drawing that I made, with pen and paper, not a Photoshop .jpeg, etc. Prior to this post I scanned it with my scanner/printer, and saved it. Now I want to post it in the art forums of smashboards. I really do wish to post it, but do not know if I have to put it on a hosting site or not in order to upload it into a post. Is it possible to post an image file without a phost site on the internet? Yes or No. Explain.

Yes. You need an image host to post pictures on these forums. Otherwise, you can link it from another website if you've uploaded it elsewhere, but I don't recommend doing that.

Or as Straked said, IMG tags.
