Please stop with pointless polls. This kind of topic is the exact reason why I (and many others) don't hang around on Melee discussion.

I'd say that his main problem is that very few of his moves give significant hitstun and decent knockback. This severely limits his comboing abilities and all of his aerials (other than falling Uair or a very occasional Nair) are absolutely horrendous. His only great moves are F-Smash, D-Tilt, and D-Smash. His throw game isn't horrible (chaingrabbing spacies) and B-Throw can combo into an F-Smash if the opponent DIs incorrectly. Also, you could just go into character discussion to see what people think some of Roy's main problems are.

If only the rest of his sword was actually made out of metal. The running joke with one of my friends is that his parents were too poor to finish his sword. The handle is made of metal, but the whole blade is made out of styrofoam.

As spak said, his moves don't hit hard enough, so he can't combo, but also, he can't do anything about crouch cancel. On top of that, his grab doesn't lead to anything most of the time because his moves are so bad. He really doesn't have a good solution to crouch cancels, so he gets rekt by it.

Laggy moves are what hurt him the most, especially on aerials since it removes most of his offstage game.
