Hello all. I normally don't like baseless speculation on things, but upon watching some footage I noticed a certain character at around the 1:24-1:27 mark hits the corner of a hitbox and slides across the stage. Please keep your attention on the computer player. I do not know what the implications of this are, if any, but IIRC this never happened in previous smash games.

Since I am genuinely seeking to understand what happens (as opposed to trying to create unnecessary hype or grasp at straws), I ask that you dissect this to the best of your ability. Whether it can be utilized or is pointless is fine with me, I just need to know what happened and why. lol

without further ado (Character spoilers warning!)

In brawl, characters retain momentum from pivoting out of a RAR jump. My favorite was bair to ftilt with Link or Dong. It seems to slide farther now. Good find!

Similar things happened in Brawl, but it depended greatly on the character and move used.

Like, if you did a fastfall dair with CF on a slope, you'd slide pretty far. It's a nifty trick that can save you from being punished during landing.

This one seems to be a bit more on the extreme side(although the slope on Corneria is also pretty steep). Maybe Falco could do this reliably on sloped stages, as it seemed to be fairly lagless

So essentially he's simply fastfalling into the slope, and the fastfall momentum in combination with the slope is what sends him sliding?

@ Texas Toast Texas Toast Pretty much. He might be throwing out an aerial at the very end that autocancels as well. Looks like Falco has slippery feet, so it might be something to look into when we get our hands on the game.

@ KaZe_DaRKWIND KaZe_DaRKWIND It's not a roll, he simply turns around twice while keeping the momentum from the fastfall-slide. You can see his real roll shortly after
