I am not sure if a 20th anniversary is much more important than a 15th anniversary. I want to say that Ridley is a possibility, but every time I say that, a character doesn't get revealed.It's the Japanese 20th Anniversary of Super Metroid.

You and me both (although throw K. Rool in there).Well, I did hope for a villain-filled E3 where we get Ganondorf, Ridley and Mewtwo.
My thinking is that, if Ridley is going to be playable, they're going to announce him right after the new Metroid as a two-hit-combo.
Metroid gets to wipe off the **** Team Ninja took on it's face, we get Ridley for Smash, we dance, we kiss, we schmooze, we go home happy.

I do not think F-Zero will receive another representative. The series is iconic but it's only true iconic and memorable character is Captain Falcon. Samurai Goroh is the only other character who is somewhat iconic but due to the genre of the series he doesn't have any screen time
Many people like to cite Star Fox as a series that has many extra characters, but Falco and Wolf developed a great personality with only a few lines of dialogue. Both of them are iconic and memorable
This time around I feel that most franchises are already well represented and we won't be seeing many newcomers in that regard. Possibly Donkey Kong and Metroid have higher chances but F-Zero really doesn't need anyone but the Captain

Sorry about jumping out like that, mainly I'm trying to figure out a team around Greninja, Hydreigon/Haxorus and Lucario. Haxorus and Hydreigon depend on which would better support Greninja and Lucario so I'm curious which one of them would help them the most. Similarly, I want a tank, but I'm not too sure which choice I should go with between Ferrothorn, Chesnaught or Skarmory as they each can spread hazards which is helpful for Greninja but also bring their own different strengths, so I'm wondering which one would be more beneficial to that idea.If Team Ninja removed every Metroid reference and replaced Samus with Ryu Hayabusa, it would not have sucked as much. Playing that game felt heavenly to me.

Hydreigon is way too much a gamble now thanks to its quad weakness to Fairy, which is almost everywhere online lately. For a tank...I suggest going the alternate choice of Gourgeist, who is actually a really good tank who can Will-O-Wisp, Leech seed and more, it's really freaking good. If not, there's always Mawile, which can clean house if used right.@

If there's anyone to blame for Metroid: Other M's fiasco is the director Yoshio Sakamoto. Team Ninja only followed his direction.
I should mention Sakamoto was also involved in the creation of the franchise and produced Super Metroid.
Many people blame Team Ninja for what Other M turned into, but actually that was the direction Sakamoto wanted to go with the series.

Doesn't matter. Also Samurai Goroh is C Tier in requests.
Neither did Captain Falcon in anything, but F-Zero GX.
You can argue a lot of characters in Smash aren't very iconic. And I argue Samurai Goroh is moderately iconic.
Opinion. I feel F-Zero needs more than Captain Falcon and needs his main rival/antagonist. Way more than Donkey Kong needs a third character after Donkey and Diddy.
Not wanting is not the same thing as not needing. Most people only declare requested characters to be from franchise that need another character. Like Kid Icarus.

You must no be facing alot of good Gourgeist users, because I would've crippled that Haxorus on the first turn with Will O Wisp and leech seed it the next. Not to mention throw in a leftovers. And the thing's got a 122 defense stat, which is really good. Also, if you want a special Tank, hidden ability Goodra is king.
I can understand Gourgeist being a good tank. Most try and use Leech Seed First turn (Bad Idea.) and then I get one dance down and murder them. Then again, there's a reason I run Lum berry on occaision for my Haxorus, Caesar. If you would be so kind, it's really difficult to reply to sentences rather than form a cohesive response, so please don't break up a post that way.
In regards to screen time, the main protagonist is kind of immune don't you think? You can't really equate Falcons screen time to Gorohs since Falcon is the face of F-Zero. He has infinite screen time.
You would be hard pressed to find characters that aren't iconic in Brawl as the entire roster is pretty spot on with the All-Stars. Maybe you could argue Ike and Lucario but both of those characters are from way more popular series than F-Zero. They both also feature prominent roles in their respective games, something Goroh never has
The difference between Donkey Kong and F-Zero is relevance, popularity, longevity and more importantly the fact that those characters are either always playable as themselves
